How to Set Network Location to Private or Public in Windows 10
Private network allows you to connect to other computers that are on the same physical network. A public network is a network that is accessible to the public. By participating in a public network, you expose your connected devices to the world.
You can manually make some changes to ensure that you are not accidentally sharing either too much on a public network or blocking all sharing on a private network.
In this article, I walk you through the steps for Windows 10:
1. First, open the Settings app by pressing the keyboard shortcut Win + I.
2. In the Settings app go to Network & Internet.
3. On the right panel, click on the Change connection properties link.
4. When you click on the "Change connection properties", you will now be able to select Public or Private network.
